I took this picture at Black Pelican. Incredibly even break today. It’s hard not to be optimistic at the beginning of a new year. It’s not that I’m naive–although that is subject to debate–or a wide-eyed optimist, or a hopeless romantic. It’s just that the details of the coming year have not yet taken shape and in the absence of evidence to the contrary, there’s no reason for pessimism.
